OATMEAL NOUGAT
This is a recipe from Agos’ great grandmother and it’s been a while since the last time she ate it. So, let's make it!
Ingredients:
200g of butter
2 ½ cup of instant oats (We'll use Quaker)
8 tablespoons of cocoa
¾ cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Milk
Crackers (We'll use Criollitas)
Step by step
To begin, mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Then melt the butter in a frying pan at minimum heat .
When it’s done, add the sugar and the vanilla and stir so the mix doesn’t burn.
When it’s all mixed, add the dry ingredients from beginning while you keep stirring, and then pour the milk until it gets creamy.
Now, to make the nougat you need to put a nylon sheet on a tray and start to insert a layer of cookies and one of the mixture until there is no more of it.
To finish the recipe, leave it in the refrigerator for two hours.
Tips
You will get a better result if before making the nougat you let the mixture cool
It’s better if the last layer of the nougat is the mixture itself.
