LEMON SQUARES

My mom always cooks them and everyone loves them. So I thought it would be nice to share it.  


Ingredients:

- 150 grams of butter

- 1 cup self-rising flour

- 1 cup of plain flour

- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar

- 2 cups of regular sugar

- 4 eggs 

- 1/2 cup lemon juice

- zest of 1 lemon


Step by step

with your hands, mix the butter with the powdered sugar and the flour in a bowl. Set a cup of this preparation aside for later use.


Butter a tray, it's better If its rectangular. Once done, put the mixture in forming a thin layer. Preheat the oven, and, once it is strong, put the tray with the mixture inside for approximately 10 minutes or until it is golden


In another bowl, mix the eggs with the regular sugar, the lemon juice and the lemon zest. Then, add the cup that you had set aside from the first mixture.


Add this fresh mixture to the already cooked base and take it to a soft oven for 20 minutes


Once the 20 minutes have passed, take the tray out and sprinkle it with powdered sugar


Once cold,cut it into small squares or small bars
